This role plays a key part in delivering HR practical support in an operational environment and will have direct impact in building a team that’s hands-on, high performing, and passionate about delivering real results. This is a hands-on role where you will be: Providing HR support across our Roads and Port business units – Serve as a key contact and coach for supervisors and managers and navigate people-related challenges through this significant growth phase Address complex industrial relations matters with confidence and coach leaders to strengthen capability Provide clear, timely, and practical advice on generalist HR matters including attendance, probation, performance, and conduct and support day-to-day HR decisions with a strong operational lens Contribute to the rollout of leadership development and promote and embed Newhaul’s values through your presence, coaching and support Compliance, systems and reporting – including workforce reports, data insights, training, licensing, inductions and competency requirements Drive results while fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and operational excellence Qualifications About you: 5 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner in an operational or blue-collar setting in a mining, logistics, transport, or heavy industry environment Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (preferable) Sound working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, and modern award frameworks. Proven ability to manage ER/IR matters with confidence and fairness including EBA negotiations Proven track record in leadership coaching and building management capability High resilience, strong commercial acumen, and a decisive, “gets it done” mindset Embodies the Newhaul values of Humble (lacks excessive ego), Hungry (shows a strong drive & motivation to achieve & exceed expectations), Smart (displays good people skills, and appropriate in their interactions with others) Additional Information To Apply Newhaul believes in the power of a diverse work environment.
