JOB SUMMARY:

The University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) is seeking a collaborative and proactive HR Partner to serve as the primary HR liaison for designated departments within the School. This role is a trusted advisor to faculty, staff, and supervisors, providing expertise across the employee lifecycle while ensuring consistent, employee-centered service delivery.
Depending on experience and qualifications, this position may be filled at the Senior Professional or Principal Professional level. The ideal candidate is highly organized, confident navigating complex processes, and passionate about building strong relationships while supporting a positive workplace culture.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Human Resources Certification.
  • Experience with Zendesk.
  • Experience in a human resource consulting role.
  • Experience with human resources in higher education, an academic medical center, or a school of pharmacy.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a human resources business partner role at the University of Colorado.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.
  • Knowledge of the professional standards, concepts, and practices of recruitment and selection, employee relations, or organizational development and human resource policy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Thorough knowledge of current management and leadership methods and best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the HR lead for assigned departments, advising on HR policies, processes, and employee matters in coordination with the Director of HR.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, job changes, leave management, and offboarding.
  • Partner with managers and the Director of HR to address employee relations concerns, performance management, and accommodations.
  • Manage the HR ticketing system (Zendesk), ensuring timely triage and resolution of HR inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate HR data and records to support reporting, compliance, and decision-making.
  • Support equitable recruitment practices, interview planning, offer preparation, and onboarding logistics.
  • Oversee the performance review cycle and support strategies for retention, professional development, and workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across SSPPS and campus offices, including International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), to support HR operations.
