Main objectives:
As a standalone HR Business Partner, you are responsible for all HR-related issues for the Spellman Bochum site - from talent acquisition to offboarding. You will help us create a performance-enhancing corporate culture, further develop HR processes and ensure that our company is an attractive place to work for our employees.
HR Business Partner (m/f/d) This position cannot be carried out in the home office. The hours are flexible, and we are willing to consider full and part time applications.
Key responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition & Retention

  • Lead the recruitment process for all Bochum roles, ensuring a seamless candidate experience and hiring of top talent.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and engage employees in a competitive global market.
  • Manage onboarding processes to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company culture and operations.

HR Strategy & Policies

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with local labour laws and global best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design HR strategies that support business growth and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations in Germany.
  • Collaborate with international HR departments to align with global HR standards.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, resolving issues and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Develop initiatives to promote employee engagement, well-being, and professional development.
  • Plan and execute performance management processes, including goal setting, individual development plans and regular check-in.
  • Build a strong working relationship with the Works Council

Learning & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and growth.
  • Partner with department heads to design role-specific training and career development plans.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and aligned with market standards.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of salary structures and benefit offerings to ensure alignment with company goals and employee expectations.

HR Data & Reporting

  • Maintain HR records and generate regular reports on workforce metrics, such as turnover rates, engagement scores, and diversity statistics.
  • Use HR data insights to inform decisions and improve overall HR practices.

Culture & Values

  • Champion the company’s culture and values, ensuring they are embedded in all HR initiatives and interactions.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Education/ experience required:

Experience

  • Experience: 7+ years in HR management, preferably in manufacturing
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certifications like PHR, SHRM-CP, or CIPD are a plus).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of global HR practices, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance in the USA and Europe.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain a positive workplace culture in a global, remote-friendly environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Experience of working with Works Councils
  • Fluency in English (C2 or native) and German (C1 minimum)
  • Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems

Tools

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g. Workday).
  • Familiarity with tools for remote collaboration and performance management (e.g., Teams, Zoom).
