Position Summary:The Human Resources Business Partner will serve as the primary HR contact for the company, working closely with leadership and managers to align HR strategies with business objectives. This role requires both visionary thinking and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach — someone who can imagine, design, and implement an improved HR function while also handling the day-to-day realities of HR operations. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial problem-solver who thrives in a small company environment, where building systems, shaping culture, and driving innovation go hand-in-hand with flexibility, relationship-building, and hands-on execution.
This role directly manages the Payroll/Onboarding Manager and reports to the VP of Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience, preferably in a small to mid-size company.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance.
  • Experience in property management, real estate, or related industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., Fair Housing Act, ADA, FMLA) throughout North America.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with leadership to understand business goals and develop HR strategies to support growth and operational success.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Oversee an employee who handles payroll, benefits administration, and onboarding, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Develop best processes for and execute the full recruiting cycle (write the job description, strategically source, conduct interviews, handle negotiations, provide offer letters, etc).
  • Support talent development initiatives, including performance reviews, succession planning, and training programs.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on leadership, performance feedback, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Track and analyze key HR metrics related to employee engagement, turnover, time-to-fill, and other relevant metrics to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs to support employee growth and compliance.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned, such as HR system implementations, compensation reviews, or engagement, inclusion and belonging initiatives.
