HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

1.0 FTE Permanent
Salary Range: $75,512 - $94,391 (currently under review)
The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Coordinator. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing the Board’s recruitment plan, including representing the school board at various recruitment events, participating in and supporting the staffing process for all employee groups, coordinating practicums/placements and promoting the Simcoe County District School Board as an employer of choice. The Human Resources Coordinator will provide leadership, consultation, and training as it relates to recruitment and the hiring process as well as support the Senior Manager of Human Resources in collaborative processes and projects within the department. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, personable, and capable of working both independently and as a team member in a sensitive and confidential environment.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Three (3) year college diploma or University degree in human resources, or a related field;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ related experience in staffing and/or recruitment;
  • CHRP designation would be an asset;
  • Experience in project management and process development;
  • Experience in ensuring duty to accommodate compliance related to the recruitment and hiring process;
  • Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and other applicable legislation, regulations, and guidelines;
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills;
  • Demonstrated effective coordination, organizational and planning skills;
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities, meet timelines and maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with data management systems, HRIS systems, and MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Experience working in the broader public sector in a multi-unionized environment;
  • Flexibility may be required to work outside of regular hours and/or an altered workday to accommodate the position requirements;
  • Reliable transportation required;
  • The nature of this position will require travel within an assigned district; mileage reimbursement at the Board approved rate.
