We are looking for an HR professional who is eager to grow with us, take on increasing responsibility, and play a key role in shaping the future of our workforce.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a motivated HR professional (Junior to Senior level) with experience in civil construction or a related industry. This role will start with a focus on recruitment and workforce coordination but has strong potential to advance into a senior HR leadership position as BAAC continues to expand.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • HR experience in civil construction or industrial sectors strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment and talent management practices.
  • Familiarity with employment standards, WCB processes, and basic HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with HR software/HRIS systems and data tracking (asset).
  • Knowledge of payroll and benefits administration (asset, not required).
  • A growth mindset with the drive to develop into a senior HR leadership role.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the recruitment and talent acquisition process, including job postings, pre-screening, interviewing, and building/maintaining a candidate pool.
  • Coordinate and manage onboarding, orientations, and training programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
  • Support managers with employee evaluations, performance management processes, and workforce development planning.
  • Organize and maintain pre-qualifications and compliance records for employee positions and subcontractor roles.
  • Foster positive employee relations, helping to address concerns and support conflict resolution where needed.
  • Assist in HR policy implementation and ensure compliance with Alberta employment standards, WCB, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain and utilize HR-related systems for tracking workforce data, reporting, and organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership on HR initiatives and contribute to long-term HR strategy and succession planning as the role grows.
