Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator Job Description This role is responsible for supporting and coordinating a wide range of human resources functions, including payroll, benefits, HRIS, compliance, and employee support services. Responsibilities Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time in coordination with payroll processing providers, benefit providers, and brokers. Review employee time records, pay adjustments, and deductions for accuracy. Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and benefits with clarity and professionalism. Coordinate benefit plan audits and administrate open enrollment activities. Ensure payroll and benefit data are maintained accurately in the HRIS. Reconcile payroll transactions to journal entries and the general ledger. Verify the accuracy of payroll-related accounting records and resolve discrepancies. Coordinate with Finance to ensure alignment of payroll reporting and financial records. Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS and support system updates. Analyze HR data for trends, compliance, and process improvement opportunities. Prepare reports and dashboards to support leadership decision-making. Ensure HR practices comply with applicable employment laws and internal policies. Maintain required documentation for audits, reporting, and legal compliance. Monitor updates to employment laws and recommend policy changes as needed. Support HR-related projects, such as process improvements or policy updates. Track progress on project timelines and deliverables, ensuring alignment with objectives. Coordinate employee communications and support onboarding logistics. Serve as a point of contact for general HR and office-related inquiries. Prepare and maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, transfers, and/or promotions. Serve as the primary backup for specific functions during planned and unplanned absences. Essential Skills Proficiency in human resources and benefits administration. Experience with payroll processing. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with HRIS systems, with Paylocity being a plus. High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to communicate proactively and build working relationships. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree is required. 1-4 years of related administrative or HR experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may satisfy these requirements. Work Environment The role is based in a new office environment with lots of natural light from skylights and windows. HR members typically start their day between 8:00am and 8:30am. The team consists of two other members located in the Portland office and offers a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. This position provides the opportunity to grow and evolve into a higher-level HR position, potentially supporting both California and Canadian offices by 2027. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $52000.00/yr. Benefits: Medical/vision insurance (company covers 100% of EE premium and 90% of dependent and HSA- company covers 100% of premium and contributes to HSA every month), dental insurance, LTD, FSA, supplemental insurance, LegalShield/IDShield, 401(k), PTO, 13 paid holidays, and partnership with Adidas and Columbia employee store. Bonus: Although we can’t guarantee it, at least 10 years we have paid out a bonus every year valued at about a month’s salary. It would be prorated this year since you would be starting part-way through the year, but it would likely be the full amount should the bonus happen again next year.
