Job Details Job Location: Main Hospital Campus Headquarters - Madison, WV 25130 Position Type: Full Time Boone Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This role plays a key part in talent acquisition, orientation/onboarding, and HR operations, supporting leaders and employees across the organization. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and committed to delivering a positive employee experience from first contact through onboarding and beyond. Position Summary The Human Resources Coordinator supports and executes core HR functions including recruitment, hiring, new employee orientation and onboarding, payroll and benefits support, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. This position works closely with leadership and department managers to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and compliant employment lifecycle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate recruitment and talent acquisition activities, including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and supporting hiring managers throughout the process • Serve as a primary point of contact for new hire orientation and onboarding, ensuring a positive and consistent onboarding experience • Partner with leadership to support workforce planning, recruitment strategies, and retention efforts • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, Joint Commission standards, and HR best practices • Audit and maintain professional licensure lists and primary source verification documentation • Assist with timekeeping support and employee inquiries • Collaborate with the HR team on employee morale, wellness, and volunteer programs • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel and compliance records • Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources principles and practices • Understanding of state and federal employment regulations • Awareness of OSHA regulations and Joint Commission compliance standards • Knowledge of personnel and compliance records management • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately • Ability to develop relationships and effectively interface with personnel at all levels of the organization Education and Experience • Associate degree or higher in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience • Three (3) to five (5) years of human resources experience preferred • Experience with HRIS/HRMS systems • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) • Strong proofreading skills Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field Supervisory Responsibilities • None Physical Demands • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds Travel Requirements • Up to 15% travel within the State of West Virginia and surrounding areas Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Boone Memorial Hospital, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all personnel and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination, harassment, prejudice, or behavior of any type based on race, color, religion, age, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, disability status, family medical history or genetic information, past or present military service, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family or parental status, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
