JOB DESCRIPTION:
MetalCor Building Systems Inc. is looking for an energetic, people-oriented Human Resources person to join its growing team in London, Ontario. You will be responsible for coordinating a range of human resource responsibilities for a diverse group of 100+ employees working in manufacturing, installation/erection and sales/administration functions. Working closely with senior management to ensure adherence to employment policies, manage health and safety programs, administrate day-to-day employee matters and implement employee initiatives, the successful candidate will develop strong relationships within the MetalCor team. Recruiting new employees and ensuring the effective execution of the recruitment process:
· Writing and placing job ads and working with recruiters as appropriate.
· Receiving and screening applications.
· Conducting interviews.
· Composing and issuing offers.
· On-boarding and orientation of new employees.
Managing health and safety programs:
· Managing the WSIB claims process from incident to successful return to work, minimizing cost and disruption to the workplace.
· Monitoring employee training and certification to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
· Managing the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) to ensure compliance with regulations including planning and conducting JHSC meetings, preparing and distributing meeting minutes and following through on action points raised.
Managing employee development and retention:
· Conducting appropriate investigations of workplace incidents to ensure an informed resolution of employee conflicts.
· Administrating the employee group benefit and RRSP/DPSP plans and advising management on plan design.
· Assist management with the proper handling of terminations, resignations, and disciplinary actions.
· Monitor employee performance and facilitate compensation reviews.
Processing biweekly payroll:
· Processing biweekly payroll using ADP Team Pay.
· Calculating monthly remittances for payroll taxes and employee deductions.
· Posting payroll entries to the general ledger.
