JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to work at The British Museum HR department on a 12 weeks temporary assignment.
This role is essential in supporting various HR functions, ensuring smooth operations within the department, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be proficient in data entry, and have experience with HR systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or Taleo.

Responsibilities
  • Efficiently coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes for allocated departments from arranging interviews, booking, and setting up rooms to carrying out recruitment checks, issuing contractual documentation and carrying out inductions
  • Provide timely and professional outcomes to successful and unsuccessful candidates. * Ensure the pension process for new starters is followed.
  • Ensure all recruitment paperwork is accurately and timely filed in line with data protection requirements.
  • Answer queries and advise managers and team members on recruitment processes and procedures. Processes and Procedures
  • Prepare paperwork and communications including employment reference and contract extensions.
  • Ensure that DBS renewals are carried out in line with the Museum’s procedures and legal requirements, including for employees involved in secure cargo transportation.
  • Efficiently and accurately coordinate the leavers process, including updating the HR database and issuing documentation. HR Systems
  • Ensure the HR database is kept up to date and accurate.
  • Produce reports from the HR database as and when required. Record maintenance
  • Ensure personnel files are kept up-to date by completing accurate and timely filing. Employee Relations
  • Take full and accurate minutes of sensitive meetings.
  • Prepare paperwork for employee relations cases as directed by HR Advisor/HR officer.
  • Advise on the application of HR policies and procedures to support resolution of first level employee relations queries. Communications and Engagement 9184-S
  • Work with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager and the Employee Engagement Manager and others to optimise and develop engagement initiatives and communications.
