This role provides comprehensive human resources support across the full employee lifecycle. It is responsible for driving recruitment and onboarding, supporting employee relations, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation, and leading initiatives that promote engagement, development, and workplace well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resources – a combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered
  • Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field;
  • Experience working in the transportation or logistics industry (an asset)
  • Excellent knowledge of Federal employment laws, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across departments and teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment including posting ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating onboarding
  • Oversee employee departures and terminations including exit interviews, return of equipment, and completion of all required documentation
  • Manage disability and WSIB cases by ensuring accurate files, guiding employees through processes, and liaising with case managers
  • Oversee HR administration including background checks, forms, reference requests, employee letters, and compliance with required documentation
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs, awards, and division-wide events
  • Manage insurance updates related to leaves of absence and status changes
  • Coordinate and facilitate leadership meetings including scheduling, preparing materials, and documenting outcomes
  • Support and guide management, lead employee relations matters including conflict resolution and disciplinary processes
  • Lead the planning and delivery of training sessions on compliance, workplace programs, and skills development
  • Actively participate in the health and safety meetings
  • Ensure employee files are consistently maintained, accurate, and compliant with company policies and legal requirements
  • All other administrative HR tasks
