POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Human Resources Coordinator is a generalist role that provides administrative support across a broad range of HR functions and initiatives. This position is actively involved in recruitment, onboarding, training, health and wellness, occupational health and safety, and responding to inquiries—all in alignment with the HR strategic framework as well as the school’s mission, vision, and values.

RECRUITMENT:

  • Provide assistance and consistency in relation to the recruitment and selection process including:
  • Creating, revising, and tracking job descriptions using Doctract.
  • Create and post job advertisements across various websites and social media platforms.
  • Assist with resume screening, interview scheduling, and coordinating interviews for the hiring committees.
  • Assist with reference and criminal record checks and manage candidate follow-up to ensure a positive candidate experience.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary diploma, combined with 2–3 years of experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Progress toward the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of employment legislation and occupational health and safety practices
  • Proficient in databases, websites, and a range of computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace (G Suite), Outlook, and Canva.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain highly confidential information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to take on additional HR and administrative responsibilities as needed.
  • Willingness to participate in school functions, events, and meetings.
