As a Human Resources Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, including payroll processing, onboarding, compliance, and employee support. You’ll work closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure smooth and timely execution of HR processes across all Spartan locations. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Columbus, OH, operating Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST, starting at $26.50/hour, based on experience. Requirements What You’ll Do Coordinate and administer new hire onboarding, including orientation, paperwork, drug screens, and background checks Manage employee data from hire to termination, ensuring accuracy in payroll, HRIS, and benefits systems Process HR actions (pay changes, title changes, terminations, etc.) and maintain complete employee records Handle employment verifications and maintain confidential personnel, payroll, and medical files Support weekly payroll processing and collaborate with Warehouse Managers to verify timesheets and HR actions Conduct regular HR audits for compliance with ACA, EEOC, benefits, and coding standards Respond to employee inquiries and assist the HR Manager with projects, events, and department communications Manage HR department emails, mail, and unemployment claim correspondence Attend meetings, take notes, and ensure timely follow-up on HR tasks Qualifications 1+ year of HR experience; payroll experience preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS or payroll software (e.g., Paylocity) is a plus Understanding of HR policies, procedures, and compliance regulations Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Work Environment This role involves primarily office-based work with regular computer use. Occasional walking or lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
