Join our dynamic HR team as a Human Resources Coordinator! In this role, you will be providing administrative support of critical functions within HR including, but not limited to Talent Acquisition, New Hire Orientation/ Onboarding, Benefits, Employee Training & Development, Time & Attendance, and Employee Relations.  The HR Coordinator position is a dynamic role which requires flexibility, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruptions. How you'll help the formula: Talent Acquisition * Posts regular jobs for external candidates, screens candidates, schedules interviews, initiates background checks, drug tests and physicals and electronic onboarding. * Coordinates onboarding plans for non-hourly new hires. * Schedules and/or conducts new employee orientation. * Acts as the primary tesa contact for hourly employees from offer acceptance to first day. * Contributes to a seamless and efficient introduction to tesa. * Maintains IATF compliant personnel files. Benefits Support * Assists with new hire benefits enrollment questions and qualifying changes. * Handles first level issue resolution and escalates more complicated issues to the Benefits Team. * Ensures that new employees attend Benefits Orientation and Open Enrollment meetings. * Coordinates wellness events at the Plant and tracking activities of participants including, but not limited to, drafting flyers, and event planning. * Coordinates with Benefits Team on Disability and FMLA claims. * Monitors claim statuses to ensure that Plant employees are paid on time through proactive follow-up and communication with the Benefits Team. * Issues and retains FMLA forms; communicate with supervisor on outcome; ensure that timecards are coded for FMLA as appropriate. * Maintains regular communication with supervisors regarding employee leave status, staffing impacts, return-to-work timelines, and related workforce needs. * Coordinates return to work process between the supervisor and the Benefits Team. Apprenticeship Program * Assists with Baker College mechatronics apprenticeship program job fairs, onboarding, tracking, and other grant compliance requirements. * Administers GRCC mechatronics apprenticeship program in collaboration with students and GRCC. * Orders and pays for books for GRCC students; maintain a supply of the costly books for use by future students. * Communicates regularly with the Plant Program Champion and employee participants to ensure participants are meeting work and school requirements. * Maintains all documentation required by State of Michigan Going PRO grant to ensure reimbursement. * Prepares for recognition events and internal communication. Payroll * Supports timecard managers to ensure an accurate biweekly payroll. * Enters employee changes into Employee Change Report. * Completes and submits workflows for employee changes as needed. * Communicates proactively with employees on pay issues or changes. Employee Relations Activities * Communicates proactively with all associates, with a focus on associates without tesa email, in person whenever possible. * Provides customer service to employees by answering benefit and policy questions, researching paycheck concerns, and assisting with their use of HR systems (i.e., PayCor Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Applicant Tracking System). * Escalates employee relations concerns to Human Resources Manager as appropriate. * Participates in investigations. * Proposes or executes activities to positively impact employee engagement. * Schedules and facilitates meetings, maintaining expense tracking, performing research, purchasing event supplies, preparation, and execution of plant events. Employee Training & Development * Acts as the initial point of contact for tesa compliance training and other professional development programs. * Ensures that tesa compliance training deadlines are met by impacted employees through an escalating communication process. * Ensures that all IATF training records are complete, follows-up with managers as needed. * Delivers training as assigned. Administrative & Misc. * Schedules, tracks, and files probationary and annual performance reviews. * Handles the responsibility for 100% accurate digital copies of employee records and ensure that record retention processes are followed. * Maintains tesa branded stock for new and current employees. * Administers HR expenses to ensure compliance with Global Purchasing requirements, including setting up new vendors, researching outstanding invoices, and working closely with NAM Accounting. * Schedules lunches or makes dinner reservations as requested. * Maintains good attendance and flexible work schedule to be accessible to hourly employees. * Assists with maintaining a 6S HR office and storage area. * Assists with and/or completes special projects as assigned. * Performs other related duties as required. Key Elements For Your Role * Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field; or equivalent years of HR experience required. * One year of administrative experience preferably from within an HR or related function. * Superior interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels in the organization. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work independently. * Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an environment of frequent interruptions. * Superior attention to detail to reliably perform tasks requiring accuracy. * Effective follow-through and excellent communication skills, both written & verbal. * Positive and willing attitude that promotes teamwork and ability to work well within a diverse workgroup with an elevated level of customer service skills. * Willing and able to work occasional weekends, evenings, and early mornings.
