POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources, the Assistant is a part of Employee Services and Talent Acquisition team and will have the following job duties:

  • Coordinate and conduct employee on-boarding activities such as contacting new employees for on-boarding requirements and participating in the New Hire orientation process for Adjunct Faculty and College Assistants.
  • Create New Employee personnel files; ensuring that all HR files and records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure human resources recruiting functions and actions are in compliance with University rules and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, employment laws, and college policies and procedures.
  • Maintain tracking system, update the status report to ensure effective management of newly hired employees.
  • Assist with communicating reappointments of the part-time titles (Classified and Faculty).
  • Approve semester/fiscal year initial job appointments, reappointments, revisions, and employee terminations via Electronic Human Resources Action Form (EHRAF).
  • Respond to questions related to the following: completion of Form I-9, verification of degree information, direct deposit, University workload limitations, etc.
  • Maintain an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree required.
