Role Overview: Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the full employee lifecycle across Monarch Collective and its portfolio companies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being at the center of HR operations—balancing day-to-day execution with opportunities to help build and improve processes in a fast-moving, high-growth environment. You will support core HR functions including onboarding, benefits, payroll, HR systems, recruiting coordination, reporting, and administrative employee relations support. You’ll interact regularly with employees and managers across multiple business functions and geographies, helping ensure a consistent, responsive, and compliant employee experience. Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including maintaining employee records, processing electronic paperwork, and managing documentation. Assist with payroll and benefits coordination, including new hire setup, employee changes, audits, and communication with external vendors. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data in HR systems to support compliance and operational needs. Coordinate virtual or on-site I-9 documentation validation for newly hired employees. Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR questions related to payroll, benefits, 401(k), leave, and HR policies, escalating issues when appropriate. Support recruiting coordination by posting open roles, managing applicant tracking system workflows, scheduling interviews, and assisting with pre-employment steps. Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a smooth and consistent employee experience. Provide administrative support for ADA accommodation and leave processes, including tracking documentation and scheduling interactive process meetings. Assist with HR reporting, compliance documentation, audits, and responding to routine data requests. Participate in HR projects supporting growth, acquisitions, and ongoing process improvements. Qualifications: 1-3 years of Human Resources experience with benefits and payroll specific experience a plus Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe. Experience with HR Systems and their management, with specific experience with Paylocity a plus. Ability to work from the Chicago office on a Hybrid schedule of Monday through Wednesday. What We Offer As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $25.00 - 33.00 / hour, and will be eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time.
