Role Overview
The Human Resources Director is a key member of our Leadership Team, responsible for shaping and executing the people strategy that fuels Alma Tire’s growth. This role owns the design and leadership of HR functions across all divisions; from recruiting and retention to compliance and culture. The HR Director will build scalable systems that attract, develop, and retain top talent while maintaining our values-driven culture and ensuring compliance across all locations.

Key Accountabilities

  • TALENT ACQUISITION & RETENTIONBuild recruiting pipelines for skilled labor and leadership positions.
  • ONBOARDING, TRAINING & DEVELOPMENTStandardize onboarding across divisions. Implement training programs that support career progression, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • COMPLIANCE & SAFETYEnsure full compliance with Michigan labor laws, OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
  • CULTURE & ENGAGEMENTDrive a high-performance culture aligned with Alma Tire’s Core Values. Implement engagement programs that improve employee satisfaction and minimize turnover.
  • LEADERSHIP SUPPORT & SUCCESSION PLANNINGCoach leaders and managers, oversee performance review processes, and establish succession planning for key roles.

Requirements:

Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience (multi-site service or manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal and Michigan labor laws and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success building recruiting pipelines for skilled trade roles.
  • Experience scaling HR systems in a growth-oriented business.
  • High integrity, resilient, and capable of balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
  • Familiarity with EOS preferred.
