Job Title: Human Resources Director
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: New York City, NY
Job Summary
The Human Resources Director is responsible for managing and leading all HR operations, ensuring
strategic alignment with company goals, and serving as the primary HR advisor to the CEO and
executive team for a multi-state hospitality company . This role oversees the full spectrum of HR
functions, including compliance, talent acquisition, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations,
performance management, training, and organizational development. The HR Director provides vision
and direction for HR strategy and policy across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
o Develop and implement HR strategies to support organizational objectives.
o Advise executive leadership on HR trends, legal compliance, and best practices.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
o Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for all roles.
o Develop talent pipeline strategies.
Employee Relations and Discipline
o Manage employee relations, investigations, grievance and discipline procedures.
o Advise leaders on corrective action, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
o Interact with the Company’s labor counsel as needed.
Compensation, Payroll, and Benefits
o Administer payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
o Design and administer employee benefits programs.
o Conduct salary benchmarking and recommend compensation policies.
o Oversee HRIS software (payroll, time clocks, employee portals, benefits) to assure
accuracy, efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Performance Management
o Implement and refine performance evaluation systems.
o Guide leaders on goal-setting, feedback, and managing underperformance.
HR Operations & Compliance
o Maintain HR records and HRIS systems.
o Update and maintain employee handbooks and ensure full regulatory compliance.
o Prepare and manage the HR department budget.
o Lead I-9 compliance, unemployment claims management, employment classification
audits, EEO-1 reporting, and required labor law postings.
Reporting
o Track HR metrics and provide regular updates to the CEO.
o Prepare reports on staffing, turnover, engagement, and HR KPIs.
External Relations
o Manage relationships with benefits brokers and providers, external labor counsel, vendors,
and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s or HR certification
(SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
8–10+ years’ experience in human resources, with at least 3–5 years in senior leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of employment laws, best practices, and HR technologies.
Demonstrated success managing payroll, benefits, compliance, discipline and employee
relations.
Outstanding leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
High-level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and
compliance.
High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with limited
supervision.
Competencies

Ability to build trust with executives and staff at all levels.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in
writing.
Experience with HRIS, data analytics, and process improvement.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Salary Range
$125-$150,000
