Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Brasenose College as HR Director, supporting a friendly community of c. 250 employees (academic, professional and domestic staff) in a medium sized Oxford College located in beautiful historic buildings off Radcliffe Square in the heart of the city. The College is an independent legal entity, although coordinates much of its HR policies with the University and the other Colleges.
The HR Director leads the HR team and works closely with senior College Officers to ensure that Brasenose continues to recruit, develop and retain excellent people across all parts of the College. It is both a strategic and operational role, overseeing all HR activity and providing direction for the HR strategic vision, as well as working closely with the Senior Tutor and other members of the senior management team on academic staffing matters. The role reports to the Bursar and provides oversight for the HR Manager and HR team on professional and domestic staffing matters. This is a real opportunity to deliver a strong HR offering to support the needs of the business and staff.
The College is seeking a highly experienced senior HR generalist, currently operating at Head or Senior Manager level to serve as a trusted advisor on all HR related activity. You will be responsible to the HR Committee and the College’s Governing Body Trustees for oversight of all aspects of HR management for the College community, including culture and employee engagement, recruitment and employee lifecycle processes and compliance with statutory requirements. The role will also include oversight of strategic workforce planning, pay and benefits considerations, policy development and application, wellbeing and EDI initiatives, management of employee relations issues and learning and development.
