Job Title: Human Resources, Engagement & Development
Reporting to: Vice President, Human Resources

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
  • 3-4 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2-3 years in a dedicated employee relations and/or performance management role.
  • Strong understanding of employment standards legislation, human rights, and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience with organization-wide performance management programs.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong coaching ability, with proven experience supporting employees and leaders through sensitive conversations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of identifying trends and recommending data-driven solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Lead the employee relations function, ensuring timely and complaint resolution of workplace concerns
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation
  • Conduct thorough, impartial formal investigations into workplace complaints and policy violations
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee morale, trust, and overall workplace culture
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, leveraging feedback and survey results to improve satisfaction
  • Address team dynamics and morale issues through targeted interventions and leader support
  • Maintain thorough, compliant case files for all employee relations matters
  • Coach and guide leaders on addressing issues early to prevent escalation
  • Recommend organizational structure, process, or policy changes to address root causes and prevent occurrence

Performance Management

  • Provide expert guidance to leaders on corrective action processes and documentation
  • Support the creation and execution of Performance Improvement Plans
  • Oversee the goal-setting process, including the development of Objectives and Key Results and Individual Development Plans
  • Promote a culture of continuous feedback and real-time coaching
  • Facilitate course corrections to improve individual and team performance proactively
  • Oversee Annual Performance Review cycle, including timelines, forms, communication, and rating scales
  • Lead and manage calibration sessions to ensure consistency and fairness across teams and departments
  • Partner with leaders on development planning, skill gap analysis and succession planning

Learning and Development

  • Partner with the Global Leadership and Learning Institute (GLLI) to identify, design, and deliver training opportunities that enhance caregiver skills, knowledge, and engagement
  • Assess organizational and individual development needs, aligning learning programs with strategic goals and clinical excellence
  • Coordinate implementation of global leadership initiatives, ensuring consistency with local priorities and compliance requirements
  • Monitor participation and evaluate program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for caregivers, promoting a culture of lifelong learning and professional growth

General Human Resources

  • Supporting the Vice President of Human Resources on various projects and initiatives by offering strategic support as needed
  • Working closely with other Human Resources team members on projects and initiatives, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment and culture
  • Supporting all caregivers by providing assistance and resources, ensuring they have the necessary support to balance their work and caregiver responsibilities
