JOB DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources Generalist in our Operations/Manufacturing team plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the HR needs of approximately 400 union associates. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, supporting employee relations, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Strong employee relations skills
  • Proficiency in human resources and administrative support
  • Experience with HR systems and benefits administration
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances in a prompt and confidential manner.
  • Collaborate with union representatives to resolve issues and maintain positive labor relations.
  • Assist in the development, modification, and deployment of Human Resources policies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to federal and state employment laws, union contracts, and company policies.
  • Keep policies and procedures updated and communicate changes to employees.
  • Assist in the staffing process, including job postings and interactions with temporary staffing agencies for placements.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires and facilitate new hire orientation.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs and monitor employees with benefits-related questions and issues.
  • Compile, analyze, and report on HR data to identify trends and recommend solutions for improving HR processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to HRBP/HR Manager.
  • Act as a liaison between English-speaking and Spanish-speaking employees, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
