Job Title: Human Resources GeneralistJob Description The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing various HR functions, including employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, policy development, personnel record keeping, and handling matters related to workers' compensation and disability. This role involves applying employment laws and regulations in contexts such as hiring, discipline, training, and equal opportunity. The HR Generalist reports to the Director of Operations and may perform additional functions as assigned. Responsibilities Analyze, interpret, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures. Annually review and recommend amendments to the Employee Handbook to ensure accuracy. Evaluate employee benefit offerings annually to provide competitive packages. Maintain complete and compliant employee personnel files, including updated position descriptions. Liaise with legal counsel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (EEO/AA/FMLA/ADA/etc). Provide periodic training for supervisors and staff on HR regulation developments. Design, implement, monitor, and maintain the employee evaluation program. Design and implement an orientation program for all new employees. Support and recommend hiring selections based on organizational values and mission principles. Promote diversity through recruiting and staff development. Communicate important HR information routinely to all staff members. Work Environment This position offers the opportunity to join a fast-paced, rapidly growing non-profit organization in Turner Falls, MA. The work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, in an office setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Turners Falls, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.25 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
