POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, or generalist HR functions.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems considered an asset, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Saskatchewan employment standards and payroll legislation.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Prepare and process bi weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees; reconcile earnings, deductions, taxable benefits, and remittances; generate ROEs and year end slips (T4/T4A). Ensure pay statements include all required details and are issued on mandated paydays per SK standards.
  • Maintain employee records (new hires, terminations, leaves, status changes), audit timesheets, and resolve discrepancies before payroll cut off.
  • Monitor and apply updates for employment standards impacting wages, overtime, vacation/public holidays, and leaves.
  • Coordinate WCB-related updates with Admin/Accounting as needed.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Own full cycle recruitment: job intake, posting, sourcing, screening calls, interview coordination, reference checks, and offers.
  • Coordinate in person formal interviews and ensure a professional candidate experience.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding & orientation.
  • Support multi site hiring across Saskatchewan.

Benefit Administration

  • Administer group benefits enrollment/changes/terminations and support employees with claims and plan questions; coordinate with providers using current forms and processes.
  • Manage eligibility periods, life events, and evidence of insurability requirements; reconcile monthly invoices.
  • Provide clear benefit communications during onboarding and annual refreshers; highlight key programs such as RSP matching, EFAP, and Health Care Spending Account (HCSA).

Performance Management

  • Coordinate probationary (3 month) and performance reviews; maintain schedules, templates, and file records.
  • Support managers with performance documentation and coach leaders on policy alignment and progressive discipline processes when needed.
