Description The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting our employees and managers by providing exceptional service while ensuring the effective administration of HR programs, payroll, recruitment, employee relations, and compliance. The HR Generalist job consists of two positions that share responsibility for delivering comprehensive human resources services. While each position has primary responsibility for designated functional areas, both positions are cross-trained and are expected to provide operational support and backup coverage for one another to ensure continuity of service and effective department operations. Essential Duties: Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Offboarding Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned positions. Develop and post job advertisements. Screen applicants and coordinate interviews with hiring managers. Conduct reference and background checks. Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation. Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientations. Ensure all new hire documentation is completed accurately and timely. Coordinate the offboarding process within assigned timeframe. Conduct exit interviews for assigned positions and identify trends for management review. Employee Relations Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers. Support managers with routine employee relations issues. Escalate complex or high-risk employee relations matters to the HR Manager, including concerns involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, leave compliance, or potential legal risk. Learning and Development Support employees’ seeking or enrolled in continuing education programs. Maintain continuing education and learning records and assist with administration of learning management system. Coordinate annual acknowledgement of Code of Ethics and Business Conduct as well as other related human resources policies/procedures/documents. Benefits and Leave Administration Administer and monitor leave programs to include; and not limited to, FMLA, Short-term and Long-term Disability, ADA, Workers Compensation, Parental Leave, and Military Leave. Administer employee health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, deferred compensation, and equity plans. Manage the quarterly Wellbeing Reimbursement Program and related initiatives. Support the development, implementation, and administration of employee wellbeing programs that encourage engagement and healthy lifestyles. Assists with employee benefits administration to include reconciling monthly benefit provider bills, assisting with annual open enrollment, assisting employees with life event changes, maintaining benefits in HRIS, etc. Payroll Administration Process payroll accurately and timely in accordance with established payroll schedules. Audit payroll transactions, earnings, deductions, timekeeping records, and leave balances. Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS. Assist with payroll tax reporting and lead year-end processing and W-2 preparation. Complete and distribute quarterly and other payroll-related reports. Human Resources Administration Maintain employee personnel files and electronic HR records. Prepare employment verification requests and HR correspondence. Generate routine HR reports and metrics as requested. Performance Management Assist with administration of the Bank's performance management process. Support managers in establishing performance goals and documenting employee performance in HRIS. Monitor completion of performance evaluations and follow-up activities. Employee Engagement Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives. Assist with employee events, wellness activities, and culture programs. Compliance Assist with compliance related to federal and state employment laws. Support administration of HR policies and procedures. Maintain required employment records and reporting. Prepare employment documentation, correspondence, and routine HR reports. Coordinate and provide HR and payroll documentation/information for various external and internal audits in an efficient and timely manner. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in all areas of human resources; including, and not limited to compensation, talent management, and employment law. Other Responsibilities Reconciles various banking accounts related to payroll and benefits monthly. Complete various internal controls related to protecting the integrity and ensuring the accuracy of HR data across multiple platforms. Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and employee experience. Maintain confidentiality of all employee and organizational information. Participate in professional development and networking conferences and events. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisor responsibilities. Knowledge of and experience with various human resource information systems. Knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Education and/or Experience A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. A minimum of three years’ experience in human resources at a corporate level or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Payroll processing experience highly preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Current driver’s license to travel to other bank branch locations and other bank-related travel. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification highly preferred or willing to obtain. Position Type/Hours: This is a full-time, exempt level position working Monday – Friday with other days and hours as necessary to accomplish duties. Travel: Travel is primarily within the Bank’s market areas during the business day with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel required.
