Description
The HR Generalist with a Payroll & Benefits emphasis is responsible for administering and managing FairCom’s day-to-day HR functions, with a focus on payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, and employee support. This role will ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with federal and state laws while supporting broader HR initiatives that promote an engaged, high-performing workplace. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration (40%) Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees. Verify timesheets, deductions, and adjustments while maintaining confidentiality. Working with the Finance Team, reconcile payroll reports. Manage relationships with payroll vendors and troubleshoot payroll-related issues. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Benefits Administration (40%) Administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other voluntary benefits. Provide support during open enrollment, benefit changes, and employee inquiries. Serve as liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve issues. Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and other applicable regulations. Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and ensure accurate deductions. HR Generalist Support (20%) Assist with onboarding, new hire orientation, and employee lifecycle changes. Maintain employee records in HRIS and ensure data integrity. Support employee relations by addressing day-to-day HR questions and concerns. Provide support on HR policies, procedures, and compliance matters. Assist with other adhoc HR projects as needed. Education, Experience, and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 4+ years of progressive HR experience with emphasis in payroll and benefits. Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, or similar). Knowledge of federal and state employment and payroll laws. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel expertise preferred. Join the FairCom Team!
