Job Description Human Resources Generalist Reports to: Director of Human Resources FLSA Status: Salaried/ Exempt Summary: Responsible for the day to day operations of the Human Resources department providing general human resources services for all employees with emphasis on employee maintenance, staffing and benefits. Job Tasks/Duties Process all paper work relating to new hires, terminations, and personnel changes including background checks, I-9’s, W-4’s Review background checks and determine if candidates meet qualifications Maintain personnel files and update information as required Assist in the development of the orientation process Enroll, update, terminate employees in payroll system (Paylocity) Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies Conduct employee new hire orientation Ensure all new employees enroll or decline medical, dental and supplemental insurance programs Assist as needed with insurance renewals including attending renewal meetings and reporting positive and negative aspects of insurance programs Directs and manages the employee engagement committee Serve as liaison between employees and insurance companies. Ensure all employees are receiving correct benefits Facilitate and promote wellness activities Enter all garnishment orders into the payroll system Assist with payroll entry as needed Assist in maintaining statutory compliance with FLSA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA and other applicable legislation Assist managers on issues involving disciplines, discharges, benefits, leaves, compensation and other employment tasks Distribute performance evaluation notification to managers, ensure reviews are completed timely Maintain/update employee communication Process unemployment claims/verifications Respond to requests to produce employment records Translate documents as needed Assist in the development of employment policies and procedures Report all accidents / illnesses to worker’s compensation carrier, ensure that employees who have had accidents return to work at the appropriate time Maintain relationship with worker’s compensation company Assist Director of Human Resources with all departmental matters Perform all other duties as assigned Requirements Essential Requirements Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn Strong time-management skills with the ability to multitask while still maintaining attention to detail Ability to effectively manage conflict when necessary Ability to think critically and make sound decisions Proficient in Microsoft Office, and overall general computer aptitude Proficient in English and Spanish (speak, read, write) Must have valid Florida driver’s license Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above Must be physically able to sit and use the computer for hours at a time Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to follow written and verbal instruction This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an “at will” employment relationship.
