New Leaf is a not-for-profit social service agency located north of Newmarket, providing residential and day supports to adults with developmental disabilities. New Leaf’s mission is to provide a safe home to, and enrich the lives of, individuals with development disabilities in a unique sensory and natural environment as we assist individuals to live and work as valued members of society and the community. We endeavor to provide quality supports and services that offer a rural option to individuals with intellectual disability, dual-diagnosis, and/or other complex needs.
We are seeking a dedicated full-timeHuman Resources Generalist to be responsible for supporting the HR team in the delivery of quality HR services, daily HR operations, implementing HR policies, and fostering a positive workplace environment in accordance with New Leaf’s mission, vision and values.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to a passion for excellence and innovative HR practices, this role requires:
· Post-secondary education in Human Resources
· CHRP in progress is an asset
· 2 – 3 years of related HR experience is preferred
· Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws
· Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suit
· Ability to work independently or with supervision
· Clear Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check required

Responsibilities

· Coordinate a full recruitment cycle including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, conducting reference checks, and offer positions
· Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires to ensure a smooth transition
· Ensure HR practices comply with labour law and agency policies and procedures
· Maintain employee records and ensure data privacy and accuracy
· Service as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns
· Prepare and analyze HR reports
· Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programs
· Assist employees in completing the insurance claims and serve as a liaison between the employee and the insurance provider to ensure early return to work
· Organize and participate in safety committees and meetings.
· Support HR projects and initiatives
· Assist in review and implementation of HR policies and procedures
· Provide general administrative support for the department, including employee maintenance, correspondence and reporting.
