POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will handle payroll for all Libertana entities and provide essential support to the HR department. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing payroll tasks with broader HR responsibilities.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of human resources experience required.
  • 2+ years of payroll experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR management or related field preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR certification (or other advanced credentials) preferred.
  • Strong team leadership experience, with a focus on meeting key goals.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws, benefits, worker’s compensation, and leave policies.
  • Familiarity with ADP payroll systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry/spreadsheets.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, maintain strong relationships across departments, and follow directions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers and phones (up to 75% of the time).
  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, and kneel as needed.
  • Close vision required for computer work.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payrolls for all Libertana entities using ADP.
  • Verify timesheets, attendance, and ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Handle manual checks for bonuses, missed payments, or terminations.
  • Assist with year-end reporting (e.g., W2s, ACA/1095 compliance).
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and address benefit deductions.
  • Support payroll audits and maintain compliance with policies.
  • Ensure federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance.
  • Manage wage garnishments and new benefit enrollments.
  • Coordinate open enrollment sessions and work with third-party administrators.
  • Oversee Leave of Absence (LOA) tracking and compliance.
  • Monitor benefit payments for employees on leave.
  • Enforce company policies and process employment verifications as needed.
  • Provide general HR and administrative support as required.
