THIS JOB IS LOCATED ON-SITE IN SCOTTDALE, PA.
I. Job Overview and General Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist performs human resources duties in support of the Penn Line operating companies. The Human Resources Generalist provides strategic and hands-on support for the HR function in the areas of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and training.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources required. Three to five years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Construction type industry experience preferred.
Written Comprehension — The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing; the ability to effectively communicate information and ideas using various reports and other correspondence in writing.
Reading Comprehension – The ability to read and interpret documents such as employment laws and regulations, Company policies, and legal documents pertaining to employment.
Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, as well as the ability to effectively communicate information and ideas when speaking to individuals and groups.
The ability to effectively understand and apply basic concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to understand and effectively work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to effectively solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to reach logical conclusions based on established evidence. Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to plan and organize one’s own activities.
Ensures that directives have been understood and carried out.
Demonstrates personal accomplishment and a desire to excel; sets and maintains ambitious standards for achievement and makes things happen. Takes ownership of position. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Human Resource Information System software; Payroll systems; Microsoft Office Suite, ERPs, and internet browsers.
Presentation and leadership skills. Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
