QUALIFICATIONS



    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

    • 2-3 year experience in an HR Generalist role; experience in a unionized environment is a strong asset
    • Strong written and presentation skills
    • Ability to manage priorities independently
    • Strong customer service and professional judgment skills.
    • Very strong technical proficiency with an HRIS system, preferably Banner
    • Agile mindset and able to pivot in an evolving environment; with a mindset for continuous improvement.

    Responsibilities


      • Pending Action Report

      • Pull bi-weekly reports and manage pending action reports.
      • Monitor and follow up on expiring probation periods, temporary/casual contracts, and work permits/visas.
      • Handle employment contract changes and prepare extension letters for engagement letters, casual, and temporary contracts.
      • Manage changes in Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) and acting incumbency appointments.
      • Respond to employee file information requests.

      Reclassifications/ Classifications

      • Recommend job classifications/reclassifications with salary equity considerations.
      • Complete job questionnaires and guide leaders through the process.
      • Evaluate requests submitted via ServiceNow and determine necessary follow-up.Researching and approving job requisitions in ServiceNow

        • Client Support (Fresh Ticket System)
      • Respond to internal/external inquiries.
      • Apply knowledge of collective agreements to resolve client questions.

      Work Assignment Management

      • Provide guidance to Academic Chairs on work assignment process
      • Create and issue letters to faculty
      • Support Academic Chairs with training on work assignment deadlines
