Slingshot Transportation Inc. is expanding again! We have an exciting new opportunity for A HR Coordinator to join our in our Milton Ontario Terminal
Salary: $55,000- $60,000 annual
Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm
Training Schedule
MUST be intermediate/proficient with Microsoft office
KNOWLEDGE
· General knowledge of Canada Labour Code
· Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems i.e ADP
· 3-5 years of proven success working in a HR department or similar role
· knowledge of HR functions and best practices.

Responsibilities:
- Support the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes of the Canadian operation by:
· Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
· Schedule and coordinate candidate interviews, respond to employment inquiries, and create a welcoming environment for employees and candidates
· Assist in the onboarding process of new employees including but not limited to; employee orientations, assigning new hire training, employee file creation
· Assist with all onboarding and orientation programs
· Complete candidate research, screening, and introductory interviews and/or interviews
· Prepare interview packages for managers/supervisors
· Manage and evaluate incoming job applications, schedule interviews, coordinate with candidates and supervisors/managers
· Identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment contracts.
· Post and update job boards with most up to date job postings
· Recruiting of new employees (job descriptions, job posting, interview process, pre-selection, reference checks, recommendations, letter of offers and employment contracts). - Providing administrative support to the operation by:
· Schedule appointments, meetings, and reservations as needed
· Manage communication including emails and phone calls
· General clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, faxing, and mailing
· Coordinate maintenance of office equipment
· Maintain and order office/cleaning supplies as needed
· Provide general support to visitors, employees, and managers
· Organize and maintain driver employee electronic and hard copy files in a confidential manner
· Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
· Assist with payroll and ad-hoc HR projects.
· Updating driver profiles and driver profile summary: including rate changes, medical and license expiry ect
· Assist with ordering office supplies/toiletries and maintain office supply closets.
· Verifying/approving all agency invoices to ensure accuracy, while updating/maintaining agency billing tracker
· Verifying and approving timecards and hours as needed - Provide general HR support by:
· Ensure benefit enrollment/deduction forms are collected and submitted for in a timely manner
· Enforcing safety and health policies
· Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies with the HR Manager, Canada
· Participate in disciplinary, coaching and performance meetings
· Review employee files and make recommendations to HR Manager if disciplinary action is required
· Be the first point of contact for employee questions and provide guidance as the need arise
· Handle moderately complex issues, while escalating complex issues to HR Manager, Canada
· Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
· Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
· Support attendance management programs by providing ongoing support of the operations in preparation of letters and follow-up where required.
· Assist in the development and issuing of HR memos and emails weekly or as required
· Ensure managers submit employee reviews in accordance with HR processes
· Working with HR Manager, Canada to investigate complaints brought forward by employees
