HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will support all aspects of the Human Resources Department

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary in Business Admin and or Hunan Resources from a University or College program, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Unionized Workplaces
  • PC literacy and experience with MS office applications
  • Teamwork skills

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for various LTC roles (PSWs, nurses, admin), including job postings (online, boards), candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, hiring offers, and generating employment contracts
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date job profiles and descriptions tailored to LTC positions;
  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate onboarding and orientation programs that meet legislative, regulatory (e.g. Fixing Long‑Term Care Act), and organizational requirements
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and staff appreciation events to foster a supportive LTC workplace
  • Offer coaching and guidance to managers on HR issues .
  • Help, implement, update, and interpret HR policies, procedures, and CA tailored to LTC and union contexts .
  • Maintain secure, accurate HR data in HRIS systems, personnel files, and records; perform audits and generate relevant statistical reports
  • Track attendance, sick leave, long-term disability, and accommodation plans to maintain compliance with WSIB, ESA, AODA, and internal policies .
  • · Excellent Customer Service to residents, families, and staff
  • Administer WSIB claims and disability management: complete WSIB forms, collaborate with insurers
  • · Problem Solving and critical thinking
  • · Excellent communication skills
  • · HRIS experience- Dayforce
  • · Analyze data
