Description The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily functions of the HR department at the Union City manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for a variety of HR activities including full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and training coordination. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can build strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly, technical, and salaried positions — including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating offers. Serve as the first point of contact for employees on HR-related inquiries, policies, and procedures. Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation. Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with enrollment and claims. Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Partner with supervisors and managers on employee relations issues, performance management, and corrective action processes. Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping verification, and attendance tracking. Support health and safety initiatives, workers’ compensation claims, and plant-wide wellness activities. Lead or participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Promote and uphold Workhorse Technologies’ core values of safety, quality, teamwork, and integrity. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Proven experience managing recruiting efforts in a high-volume environment. Working knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, OSHA). Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems preferred (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom). Skills & Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. High level of confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
