JOB DESCRIPTION:

Rockland Landscaping Supplies Ltd. is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced HR/Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team. In addition to traditional HR functions, this role will encompass responsibilities related to health and safety management. The HR/Health & Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting our employees and maintaining a safe work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HR and health and safety management roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legislation, as well as health and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have the ability to take initiative in the workplace and be excited to take on new challenges as they arise.
  • Must provide a criminal record check.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to onboarding new hires.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
  • Assist in processing payroll accurately and timely, including verifying timekeeping records and resolving discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Oversee health and safety initiatives, including conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and organizing training programs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety-related inquiries and incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Help develops and manages the health and Safety program to ensure worker safety and compliance with relevant legislation and reduce service liability.
  • Recommend, develop, and coordinate as part of the customized health and safety educational programs, the health and safety management system and promote safe work ethics in all areas of the facility.
  • Conducts safety program audits.
  • Attends as a management representative and serves as a resource to the JHSC committee.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and well-being throughout the organization.
