Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE AND TEAM

In this HR Lead role at Mount Gambier Prison, you’ll play an integral role in delivering business aligned, value-adding programs and solutions across a range of HR areas, including talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, staff engagement, culture, and employee relations. You’ll work in our Senior Leadership Team, working closely with our Prison General Manager, and reporting directly to the Director- Human Resources, who is based in our Melbourne Support Office.
You will be proactive in supporting the General Manager and Senior Leadership team in strategic and operational HR initiatives. Partnering with leaders and staff, you’ll deliver commercial and pragmatic HR programs and solutions that align to the enterprise strategies and G4S Global HR Standards.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Lead the Mount Gambier Prison HR portfolio and design and deliver the HR management plan.
  • Coach, advise and develop local managers in people management.
  • Provide advice, training and guidance on policies, procedures, legislation and practices to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of site HR strategies and its effective alignment with the objectives of the business.
  • Ensure effective continual implementation of performance management and employee appraisal systems
  • Gather and analyse HR data, for reporting and presentation to management on HR-related metrics to support decision making.
  • Keep on top of of legislative changes and topics related to employment, mitigating legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
