You will be joining the Toronto HR Team to support our business in various HR Matters. You will be exposed to multiple HR facets and will learn a lot, about HR, the railway industry and Alstom.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The HR Intern plays a key administrative & operational role within the HR Team. This role provides flexible, responsive and proactive support to the HR Business Partners (HRBP). He/She will hold various HR administrative and operational responsibilities and will be successful in this role thanks to strong organization, planning, and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the HRBP on specific HR events such as employee engagement initiatives: Manages logistics, including communications with suppliers, facilitators, and attendees.
Provides day-to-day operational support for meeting arrangements and follow-up action plans.
Maintains reliable information/data in our internal HRIS by updating and entering data.
Maintains employee records.
Manages pre-onboarding for new hires which includes completing background checks and coordinating medical visits.
Participates in the new hire’s onboarding & induction.
Supports recruitment coordination: schedules interviews, follows up with candidates and managers.
