Description Job Title: Human Resources Intern Duration: Summer 2026 Reports To: Director of People Strategies Position Overview Columbia Construction is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support our People Strategies team during Summer 2026. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced construction management environment, with exposure to core HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, employee wellness, learning & development, and field support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a career in HR while gaining real-world experience supporting both office staff and field teams. Key Responsibilities Assist with recruiting efforts, including job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination Support onboarding processes for new hires, including preparing materials and facilitating orientation Help maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation Partner with HR team members to support field employees and jobsite needs Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company events Support Employee Wellness programs, including coordinating wellness initiatives, communications, and participation tracking Assist with Learning & Development efforts, including scheduling trainings, tracking completion, and helping organize internal development programs Support compliance efforts, including file audits and policy tracking Help respond to employee questions and direct them to appropriate resources Contribute to special HR projects and process improvements as needed What You’ll Learn Real-world HR operations within the construction management industry How to effectively support both field and office teams Recruiting and onboarding best practices Exposure to employee wellness and learning & development programs HR compliance and documentation standards Communication and problem-solving in a dynamic environment Requirements Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Positive attitude and willingness to learn Preferred (Not Required) Prior internship or work experience in HR or administrative roles Interest in construction management or related industries What We’re Looking For Someone who shows up ready to contribute and learn A team player who can work effectively with both office staff and field crews A proactive individual who takes initiative and follows through A strong communicator who isn’t afraid to ask questions Why Columbia Construction At Columbia Construction, we take pride in building more than just projects—we build strong teams and lasting relationships.
