Summary The Human Resources Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting employee engagement, training development, and HR operations while contributing meaningful projects that enhance the employee experience. This internship is designed to develop future HR professionals through exposure to culture initiatives, training program development, recruiting support, and cross-functional collaboration. The intern will partner closely with Human Resources, department leaders, and the Employee Engagement Committee to research, develop, and implement initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and learning across the organization. Essential Responsibilities Employee Engagement & Culture · Attend Employee Engagement Committee meetings and planning sessions. · Review historical engagement initiatives, participation metrics, and employee feedback. · Collaborate with committee members to understand engagement goals, opportunities, and challenges. · Research employee engagement best practices, industry trends, and innovative programs. · Analyze participation data from employee events, surveys, and engagement initiatives. · Identify ways to improve engagement across departments, tenure groups, and employee populations. · Support planning, coordination, and execution of employee engagement activities, including: Internal events Employee communications Recognition programs · Create communication materials such as emails, flyers, and promotional materials. · Lead one employee engagement initiative from concept through completion, including: Defining objectives Developing project plan and budget Coordinating stakeholders Tracking participation and outcomes · Gather post-event feedback and evaluate program effectiveness. · Develop recommendations to improve future engagement initiatives. Training & Development · Partner with HR and department leaders to identify training and development needs. · Review existing onboarding, training, and learning materials for improvement opportunities. · Conduct interviews and gather feedback from employees and managers to assess training effectiveness. · Research best practices related to adult learning, training design, and content delivery. · Define training objectives, learning outcomes, and target audiences. · Develop training materials including: Presentation decks Job aids and reference guides Checklists and toolkits Video or walkthrough content, as appropriate. · Incorporate real-world company processes and examples into training materials. · Collaborate with stakeholders to review and refine training content. · Pilot training materials with employees and collect feedback. · Revise and finalize training resources for implementation. · Provide recommendations for rollout and ongoing use of developed training materials. HR Operations and Recruiting Support · Assist with day-to-day HR and recruiting activities as assigned. · Support administrative and operational HR projects. · Participate in team meetings and department initiatives. · Maintain documentation of project progress, learnings, and recommendations. Learning Objectives Through this internship, participants will gain experience in: · Employee Engagement strategy and program execution · Training design and content development · HR project management · Data analysis and reporting · Internal communication · Stakeholder collaboration · Human Resources operations and recruiting support Program Expectations · Spend approximately 2-3 days per week supporting HR operations and recruiting activities. · Spend approximately 1-2 days per week focused on engagement and training projects. · Participate in weekly mentoring and development meetings. · Maintain ongoing documentation of project work, insights, and recommendations. · Present project updates and findings through the internship. Program Deliverables By the conclusion of the internship, the intern will deliver: Employee Engagement Project · Engagement initiative plan and execution summary · Participation and feedback analysis · Recommendations for future improvements · Engagement recap report highlighting outcomes and lessons learned Training Development Project · Completed training resource or learning program · Supporting materials and implementation recommendations · Summary of pilot feedback and resulting enhancements Final Capstone Presentation The internship concludes with a formal presentation to HR leadership that includes: · Employee engagement initiative results and insights · Training project overview and business impact · Key observations regarding employee experience · Recommendations for future HR improvements Requirements Qualifications · Current or recently graduated undergraduate with a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications, Psychology, or a related field. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Interest in employee engagement, learning and development, and human resources. · Strong organizational and project management abilities. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and World · Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Work Environment Work is generally confined to a standard office environment. Physical Demands The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position. 1. No unusual physical demands are associated with this position. 2. Spends 80% of the time typing while sitting and 20% of the time either standing or walking. 3. Frequently lifts, carries, pulls, or pushes 2 – 6 pounds. Occasionally lifts, carries, pulls, or pushes up to 20 lbs. 4. Uses cart, dolly, or other equipment to carry in excess of 25 lbs. 5. Occasionally stoops, kneels, balances, reaches, crawls and crouches while performing office or work duties. 6. Verbal and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication through automated devices, such as telephones, radios, etc. 7. Constant use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery or equipment. 8. Visual capacity enabling constant use of computer or other work-related equipment.
