Description

AscendHR, LLC, a Professional Employer Organization located in Beckley WV, is seeking a full-time human resources professional for the role of Human Resources Manager (HRM).
AscendHR’s mission is to provide top-notch customized human resources service solutions to small and medium sized businesses and to celebrate the long-term relationships we create with those we serve. The Human Resources Manager will support this mission by playing a vital role in human resources functions and ensuring overall client satisfaction. This role partners with clients to develop and maintain an ongoing positive relationship and assist with HR needs, and works collaboratively with internal partners to ensure quality client services and support.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as point of contact and provides consultative HR best practice guidance on all areas of HR including but not limited to legal compliance; employee relations; employee handbooks, policies and procedures; disciplinary matters; compensation, benefits, and leave; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Researches and ensures appropriate resolution of complex client issues and concerns; provides customized HR solutions in accordance with internal standards and HR best practices, ensuring prompt issue resolution and timely follow-up
  • Partners with team members to ensure a smooth implementation/onboarding experience for new clients and newly hired employees
  • Conducts HR Assessments for new or existing clients to highlight areas requiring attention and provides appropriate guidance for process improvement and compliance
  • Reviews and/or produces employee handbooks, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and assists with the development of new policies and procedures
  • Assists with the development of corrective action notices and performance improvement plans, and provides guidance for disciplinary meetings, investigations, etc.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities
  • Works collaboratively with internal partners to ensure quality client services and support; fosters teamwork and a positive work environment
  • Maintains knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to management
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to HR, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Participates in special projects as assigned
  • Assists in the supervision of departmental team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field is preferred
  • Strong HR foundational understanding, with a minimum of 3 years of experience within human resources
  • Knowledge of all HR facets including general HR, legal compliance, benefits administration, payroll, risk management, retirement services, and client support
  • PHR or SHRM certification is strongly preferred (will be required within first year of employment)
  • Excellent computer skills, fully proficient in MS Office, as well as HRIS software
  • Detail-oriented, problem solver, critical thinker; ability to successfully manage multiple priorities at the same time
  • A high degree of personal integrity and maturity including the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Leadership skills are essential
