JOB DESCRIPTION

BAE Systems is hiring a Human Resources Manager to support our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business at our manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY that has approximately 500 employees. As a Human Resources Manager, you will support business performance objectives for all programs within the Louisville, KY site. You will be responsible for serving as a HR liaison for most of the following areas: labor relations, employee experience, succession planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, EEO, training and development, diversity and inclusion, budget accountability, and business leadership.

Location/Schedule/Travel:

  • This position is 100% onsite in Louisville, KY.
  • The role works a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off.
  • There may be up to 10% of travel to corporate events and off sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Louisville Site Lead and senior leadership team.
  • Primary liaison with the hourly workforce represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM).
  • Partner with leadership to drive a culture that is diverse, inclusive, and drives ethical behavior, collaborating with leaders to instill a culture of safety and health throughout the organization, including continuous improvement of safety standards.
  • Act as a strategic partner with assigned customers through understanding desired business outcomes required at a tactical and strategic level using data driven HR business insights to provide solutions and recommendations to management.
  • Help drive business success by reviewing and analyzing HR metrics to monitor performance and identify actionable trends.
  • Mitigate human capital related business risks and support compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to translate strategy into an executable plan.
  • Partner with leaders to identify top talent and succession candidates, and support the succession planning process at the business unit level.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to management in the delivery of compensation programs like annual salary planning, incentive compensation nominations, and internal equity.
  • Provide guidance and support in promoting and implementing key performance management initiatives including goal setting, mid-year and annual-review processes, promotions, demotions, performance improvement plans, and organizational changes.
  • Partner with Legal in response to complaints, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Oversee and conduct the labor relations and employee relation investigative process.
  • Serve as the site point of contact (POC) for partnering with senior leadership and security in the direction of disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Partner with talent solutions in the development and implementation of workforce development training programs.
  • Collaborate with the HR Centers of Excellence and all elements of the HR delivery model to ensure the delivery of excellent HR services and programs to address critical business needs and employ effective measures of success.
  • May be assigned to help lead or support other functions across the greater business.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Human Resources Management
  • Experience in Employee Relations
  • Experience in Labor Relations and working with a unionized workforce
  • Experience in Program/Project Management
  • Experience in People Management/Leadership
  • Strong business acumen
  • Sound decision making judgement while complying with policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Graduate Degree
  • Professional Certification (SPHR or SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience in Defense (DoD)/US Government Contracting
  • Experience in working in a Manufacturing environment
  • Expertise in Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, Employee Experience, Succession Planning, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Compensation, Benefits, EEO, Training and Development, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
