Position Summary:
Immediate need for a Senior interim candidate to back fill for a medical leave.
This would be a 12 month term employment assignment.
Maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
· NOVATime-time clock: tracking attendance, holidays, vacations, lay-offs, sick days, WSIB and lieu time
· Select and negotiate terms for temporary agencies
· Submit Payroll Report to the Controller and Plant Manager
· Maintain staff by recruiting and on boarding new employees, managing terminations, conducting and analyzing exit interviews, completing records of employment, and recommending employee changes
· Update job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
· Maintain the organizations operations by updating and implementing policies & procedures, training records, employee files, and information in AccPac
· Maintain WSIB records, manage claims, take to arbitration if required, manage RTW Program, and complete required documentation and reports as required (Form 7’s)
· Manage employee benefits program including additions, terminations, and changes
· Manage employee Healthy Living Spending Accounts, track spending, reimbursements etc.
· Manage employee Health & Wellness Program
· Maintaining employee relations
· Conducting Emergency Response Plans and Training. ERP team member
· Conducting performance reviews for employees as advised by management policies
· Work with the Joint Health and Safety Committee to ensure a safe work environment
· Manage the Coin Rewards Program – track coins, order items and paid time off, source new and replace cancelled items, update Coin Reward Binders as items change, ensure program runs smoothly
· Apply for and manage any grants or hiring incentives
· Apply for and manage any training grants
· Train the Trainer for forklift for all employees
· Train the Trainer for WHMIS for all employees
· Maintain First Aid cabinet and order Supplies
· Trained First Aid member
· Manage Fitness for Duty Program (drug and alcohol)
· Manage employee sensitive and confidential issues, offering support thru programs and benefits.
· Manage employee schedules and verify NOVATime balances as revised by leadhands
· Give President and Plant Manager the previous weeks labour report
· Prepare and verify payroll for Employees through NOVATime and AccPac
· Getting RRSP forms filled out and giving to the Controller to enroll.
· Update/issue training records, manage orientation program and set up training as required
· Send the President and Plant Manager the Backup/Leadhand email on scheduled absences
· Review WSIB and Insurance forms for Contractors
· JHSC Secretary: record meeting minutes, maintain records, conduct workplace inspections, and engage with the Ministry of Labour when required
· Manage employee uniform program – set up 2 yearly ordering events, order as needed
· Ensure completion of employee reviews for new hires (30, 60, and 90 days)
· Review training records and training matrix and update periodically
· Inventory first aid kits and ensure compliance
· Review the Contractor and MSDS books and update any expired documents
· Ensure birthday and service award cards are completed
· Compile and distribute a quarterly newsletter
· Manage monthly employee draw (50/50)
· Manage Work Boot program and track purchases
· Quality Monthly Bonus Program - review and do draw, give out awards

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH PREVIOUS MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT EXPERIENCE
