Description

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and manage the HR function within a dynamic, growing organisation. This is a generalist role that covers all aspects of HR, from strategic planning to day-to-day administrative tasks, across the entire employee lifecycle.
We are also open to someone with HR Director-level experience who is interested in working part-time, three days a week.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERTISE:

  • HR generalist experience across all aspects of the employee life cycle.
  • CIPD level 5+ preferred.
  • Experience in a design or creative sector is an advantage.
  • Organised, efficient, and confident in independent working.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Experience with HRIS and digital tools.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Adobe InDesign is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive HR support to leaders and employees across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set the HR strategy in line with business goals.
  • Prepare and present quarterly reports on HR metrics and KPIs.
  • Effectively manage the annual HR budget.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning and talent management.
  • Lead initiatives focused on employee well-being, engagement, and retention.
  • Work with the finance team to align resourcing and budgeting with overall financial planning.
  • Co-lead the payroll process with the finance team.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, including recruitment, internships, and apprenticeships.
  • Plan and manage learning and development activities to support both business and individual growth.
  • Supervise internal communications with the HR Coordinator.
  • Lead career review processes and manage HR cycles like performance appraisals.
  • Oversee salary review and promotion processes, ensuring fairness, merit, and legal compliance.
  • Conduct an annual review of employee benefits, ensuring alignment with company strategy and budget.
  • Keep the employee handbook and HR policies up to date with current legislation and best practices.
  • Handle disciplinary actions, grievances, exits, and redundancies in line with legal requirements.
  • Ensure employee data is managed securely, accurately, and structured for reporting.
  • Line manage the HR Coordinator.
