At Hail Creek, everything we do is about developing our people, optimising our asset and improving our future. We positively impact our people and communities. We strive to be industry leaders – the Mine of Choice. It’s a culture that fosters pragmatic outcomes where things happen quickly. We promote those ‘out of the box’ ideas to continuously improve and no day is ever the same. With a large and passionate workforce of over 1,000 people, there is a great opportunity for you to contribute and make an impact.
Reporting to the Operations Manager/SSE, this role is a key member of the Site Leadership Team and offers challenging work across a broad range of HR and IR/ER functions. It will allow you to contribute to the effective implementation of the Glencore Coal Assets Australia HR strategy on site. You will have a dedicated and driven HR team reporting to you and supporting you every step of the way.
We are proud of the fact that our HR roles are different. As the HR Leader on our mine site, you are a true advisor to the business and a trusted HR professional. Your passion for creating and developing HR strategies and initiatives will influence the culture at our operation. You will coach and support our leadership team, manage all onsite employee relations matters, conduct investigations, as well as contributing to events such as Family Days that promote and support not only our employees, but our local communities as well.
Just as importantly, we’ve worked hard to make sure you feel valued. In return, here are just some of the benefits we offer:
The option to work a compressed 9 day-fortnight flexible work arrangement;
An attractive remuneration package, including short term performance based bonuses, a vehicle in line with Policy, and Healthy Lifestyle reimbursement; and
Provision for Education Assistance to support continued professional development.
This role is a wonderful opportunity for you no matter your circumstance. You will have the option to either live locally in one of the communities that surround our operation or stay on site in our amazing village. We are only a one and quarter hour drive from the beautiful Mackay hinterland and a two and half hour drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands and have a diverse group of people at our operation commuting from multiple locations in Queensland such as SE Qld, Rockhampton and Townsville, to name a few.
Our people think and act like entrepreneurs. We have built a culture that rewards dedicated people with a can-do spirit, who take responsibility, and who have the drive to be leaders in their field. If you are driven, and can operate within a dynamic environment, this is your chance to become part of a culture that empowers people and drives progression.
