Position Overview The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for managing and supporting the Human Resources function at a single assigned distribution center (DC) while reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources. The HR Manager will oversee an HR Coordinator (HRC) to ensure the efficient implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs at the site. This position is essential in ensuring day-to-day HR operations run smoothly, with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee development, and performance management for the facility. Key Responsibilities Direct Report Oversight Lead and manage the HR Coordinator (HRC) at the site, providing mentorship, training, and ensuring adherence to HR best practices. Oversee the implementation of HR policies and procedures at the DC, ensuring consistency with DMA’s overall HR strategy. Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and provide guidance to the HRC and site leadership. Recruitment & Staffing Partner with the Director of HR to align recruitment strategies with site-specific needs. Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process at the DC, including sourcing, interviewing, and selection. Manage a perpetual candidate pipeline for high-turnover roles and seasonal/temp staffing needs. Coordinate and execute local recruitment events, including job fairs and community outreach. Onboarding & Employee Integration Supervise the onboarding process to ensure all new hires receive an engaging experience that introduces company culture and benefits. Collaborate with the HR Coordinator to ensure the timely completion of all required training and compliance documentation for all site employees. Support DC managers in developing 30-, 60-, and 90-day performance expectation plans for new employees. Employee Relations & Performance Management Provide guidance to site leadership on employee relations issues, performance coaching, and policy enforcement. Promote the performance management system by supporting goal setting and employee development plans. Participate in investigations and escalate employee relations matters as needed. Compliance & Administration Ensure site compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA standards. Oversee proper documentation for timekeeping, leaves of absence, and workplace injuries. Maintain accurate employee records and support payroll and benefits administration using HRIS systems like Paylocity and PerformYard. Requirements Key Requirements Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including supervisory experience. HR experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or retail industry is a plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Certification: PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred. Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of recruitment, performance management, and labor laws (including OSHA). Technology: Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
