The Human Resources Manager (HRM) serves as a strategic consultant to leaders and teams within High Point University, with a dedicated focus on supporting various academic service lines. This position will lead and influence HR initiatives in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development. The HR Manager will serve as a key liaison between the University Human Resources Department and the academic service lines, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance with university policies, employment laws, and accreditation-related requirements specific to healthcare and academic environments.
The HRM will work collaboratively with specialists in Benefits, Payroll, and HRIS to provide comprehensive support to various academic service lines’ faculty, staff, and clinical personnel, ensuring an exceptional employee experience in both academic and clinical settings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
Experience and Training
- Five plus years of broad HR practitioner experience in a customer-focused environment to include employment, benefits, payroll, employee relations, and maintenance of human resources/payroll data.
- Professional Human Resources experience in Higher Education preferred
- Minimum of five years of progressive HR generalist or HRBP experience in a customer-focused, fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting healthcare, higher education, or academic medical centers strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with faculty and clinical hiring processes, credentialing, and academic appointment practices is a plus.
- Workday HRIS experience is highly preferred.

- In-depth understanding of human resource functions and employment law, with the ability to apply these to a complex, hybrid academic-clinical environment.
