Full-Time Exempt, Starting Salary $62,400 a year
Homeworthy is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join us in our mission to end the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Midcoast Maine!

We deliver wrap-around programming and support to our clients, including Comprehensive Case Management services, The Hospitality House Family Shelter, and The Landing Place Youth Program. The Human Resources Manager does this by providing essential support to Homeworthy’s most important asset, our staff!

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Human Resources Manager provides comprehensive support to the organization and staff teams in all areas of human resources, upholds our agency culture and values, and models best practices. Specific responsibilities include:

  • External point of contact for all HR related vendors
  • Coordination of all Homeworthy employee benefits
  • Ensuring that Homeworthy is meeting all HR and legal compliance requirements, including updating, coordinating and implementing new policies and procedures
  • Supervises and cross trains with the Human Resources Assistant, who is responsible for staff recruitment, onboarding, coordinating staff training, maintaining human resources records and filing systems, among other responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of progressive human resources experience and must be resourceful, an excellent problem solver, highly organized, and enjoy working within a young and growing agency. The Human Resources Manager must be proficient with current technology, including the Google Workspace as well as payroll and/or HRIS systems, ADP preferred. SHRM or other formal certification is required, or willing to obtain certification upon selection
This position starts with a base salary of $62,400 - with opportunity for more based on experience. Homeworthy offers a competitive benefits package, managed by the Human Resources Manager, including employer-supported health insurance plans (employer pays up to 95% and contributes to a health savings account), optional dental and vision plans, life insurance, short term disability insurance, retirement plan with a 3% employer match, paid time off, and 14 paid holidays (including your birthday!). This full-time salaried position is hybrid, reporting to our Rockport, Maine office a minimum of three days a week and additional days as required.
