Full job description

KCB is a multidisciplinary engineering, geoscience, and environmental consulting firm grounded in our values of Passion, Integrity, and Excellence. With teams across North America, South America, Australasia, and Europe, we bring together global technical knowledge, local insight, and a shared commitment to solving complex challenges that matter.

Guided by our long-term ambition of Globally Connected Excellence and our purpose of Sustaining the Future, we work alongside our clients to deliver lasting solutions that strengthen resilience and benefit future generations.

Due to an internal promotion, KCB is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support our Australasia Business Unit. Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Vice President, Australia, this role provides HR leadership and support to more than 230 employees across Australia.

As a trusted HR Business Partner, you'll work closely with leaders across the business, providing strategic advice and hands-on support across the full employee lifecycle. From coaching and employee relations to performance management, policy development, compliance, engagement, retention, and career development, you'll play a key role in shaping our people strategy and culture. If you enjoy balancing strategic HR leadership with day-to-day operational delivery, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative global organisation.

Who we’re looking for

We're looking for an experienced Human Resources professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, builds trusted relationships, and enjoys partnering with leaders to solve complex people challenges. You are a confident and credible HR practitioner with strong business partnering skills, capable of providing both strategic advice and practical support across a broad range of people matters.

You bring exceptional communication, coaching, and influencing skills, along with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach. Comfortable navigating competing priorities and sensitive situations, you're passionate about creating positive workplace experiences, supporting organisational success, and helping people perform at their best.

What You Will Do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing coaching, guidance and support on a broad range of HR matters.
  • Partner with leaders and employees to foster KCB's culture and build positive, high-trust working relationships across the business.
  • Lead employee relations, performance management, engagement, retention, and career development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues globally to ensure a consistent and high-quality people experience.
  • Support organisational growth, change, and business improvement through HR projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay current with HR best practice and Australian employment legislation.
  • Provide guidance and support on Australian immigration and global mobility matters.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team including an HR Advisor, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and HSE Advisor.
  • Utilise KCB's HRIS (Dayforce) to support reporting, workforce insights, and HR administration.
  • Travel interstate and internationally as required.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years' experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, HR Advisor, or HR Consultant.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the judgement and adaptability to tailor solutions to different situations and stakeholders.
  • Resilience, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams, multiple office locations, and internationally mobile employees.
  • What Will Help You Succeed
