As the HR Manager, you will oversee talent acquisition, employee development, and compliance initiatives while serving as the primary lead for day-to-day HR operations. Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies and initiatives aligned with business objectives, serving as the primary owner of day-to-day HR operations. Own and oversee multi-state payroll operations and compliance, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations. Lead the recruitment function, including recruiter/vendor recommendations, and drive strategies to attract and retain top talent. Lead and continuously improve the performance management framework, including appraisal processes, feedback practices, and performance improvement plans (PIPs). Ensure compliance with labor laws and serve as a resource for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and investigations. Lead training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career progression. Oversee compensation and benefits administration to ensure competitive and equitable offerings. Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to support decision-making and workforce planning. Lead HR projects, including organizational and change management initiatives. Own the accuracy and integrity of HR systems, records, and reporting, leveraging HRIS data to drive insights and process improvements. Provide direct supervision, coaching, and development for HR team member(s), ensuring effective performance and growth. Partner with the HR Director, providing regular updates on employee relations, compliance matters, and key HR initiatives, while independently managing routine HR operations. Make recommendations and decisions on HR matters, escalating complex or high-risk issues as appropriate. Requirements Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Demonstrated experience developing and executing HR strategies that support business objectives. Experience managing or supporting multi-state payroll operations, including tax compliance and regulatory requirements. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite, with experience leveraging systems for reporting and process improvement. Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred. Ability to partner with leadership on workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational initiatives. Handle confidential information with discretion. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred. Experience in a remote, multi-state work environment is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
