Job Title: HR Manager Location: In-Office — Vaughan, ON About Us: We are a mid-sized electrical company with a strong reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality service. Our team is a close-knit group of professionals who take pride in our work and the communities we serve. We are looking for an HR Business Partner to help us support and grow our people — with a balance of compassion and practicality — in an environment that’s hands-on, working with skilled trades, and always moving. Position Summary: The HR Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to our leadership and employees, handling a wide range of HR responsibilities across Canada and the US. From employee relations to benefits administration, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling the full spectrum of HR tasks — big and small — and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. Key Responsibilities: * Act as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and provide proactive, practical guidance to managers and employees. * Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and policy implementation. * Manage employee relations issues with fairness, confidentiality, and a no-nonsense approach. * Administer and coordinate employee benefits programs for Canadian and US employees, including enrollments, changes, and renewals. * Provide guidance and insights to the payroll team. * Support compliance with employment laws and regulations in both Canada and the US. * Assist in workplace investigations and incidents. * Assist with talent acquisition efforts, partnering with hiring managers to attract and select great candidates. * Maintain HR records and ensure accuracy of employee data. * Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that help us foster a supportive, respectful, and high-performing culture. Qualifications: * 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a mid-sized or industrial/skilled trades environment. * Hands-on experience managing or supporting US employees and understanding relevant employment practices. * Strong working knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation in Ontario (and ideally other provinces). * Proven experience administering employee benefits programs. * Exposure and oversight of payroll functions is an asset. * Excellent interpersonal skills — compassionate yet firm when needed. * Comfortable working on-site full-time in Vaughan. * Ability to build trust and credibility with employees and leaders alike. * CHRP designation or working towards it is an asset. Why Join Us: * Be part of a tight-knit team where your work makes an immediate impact. * Take ownership of the full HR function in a dynamic, established company. * Enjoy variety — no two days are the same! * Competitive compensation and benefits- health, rrsp, bonus plan and more! To Apply:  Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining why you’d be a great fit for this role.
