HOW DO I QUALIFY?

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Candidates holding CHRP or CHRL designations will be considered an asset.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a HR Manager role, for a total of eight (8) years’ experience in positions related to Human Resources.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and manage needs while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Chai Lifeline Canada is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Human Resources Manager to join our team and help ensure the organization runs smoothly while fostering a positive and supportive workplace.
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing HR-related functions within Chai Lifeline Canada. The Human Resources Manager will work closely with our HR Consultant and with leadership and staff to maintain a culture aligned with Chai Lifeline Canada’s core values, ensure compliance with HR policies, and support employee well-being and growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage project timelines and deliverables with the HR consultant.
  • Collaborate with department directors and the HR consultant to support recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate interviews, and the selection processes.
  • Communicate staff needs, policy updates, and organizational changes to the HR consultant as required.
  • Serve as a resource for staff on HR-related matters, including policies, benefits, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with federal & provincial labour laws, workplace health and safety regulations, and other applicable standards.
  • Oversee the implantation of HR policies and procedures, including onboarding & offboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Develop and manage the annual HR budget in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Organize staff engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and recognition programs to enhance morale and retention.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining job descriptions for all roles within the organization.
  • Oversee employee development plans and training programs to promote skill-building and career growth.
  • Support managers in conducting performance reviews and addressing performance related issues.
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure consistent and fair performance management practices.
  • Collaborate with the HR consultant to create strategies for employee growth and organizational development.
